About the role
The Programme Director will act as the senior representative responsible for the Programme. They will be the client-side representative who will be the focal point of contact alongside project managers for the day-to-day management and interests of the Programme. The successful candidate will ensure that the desired objectives are delivered, therefore they must have detailed knowledge and insight about the business and the Programme to make well-informed decisions.
Main duties
We are looking for an experienced Programme Director who has extensive experience working in a digital agency environment. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will have previous experience of working on sizeable digital projects and will understand the digital industry from a marketing and communications context as well from a design and build point of view.
A natural leader across the business, the Programme Director will be responsible for defining the Programme’s objectives, ensuring an appropriate management framework is in place, securing resource and expertise as required, appraising and managing risks, and co-ordinating and fostering the best way of working. As part of the role, you would also need to manage performance and delegation within the team and establish a mechanism to ensure regular dialogue with third parties is followed to promote problem solving, team work and risk sharing.
Skills and experience
You will need:
- Proven experience in a senior programme director’s role
- A degree in a relevant subject and strong academic skills in maths and English
- Strong leadership, delegation and organisational skills
- The ability to manage large teams across multiple locations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- The ability to learn and assimilate new ideas quickly and gain the respect of team members and clients
- Knowledge of current web trends and Microsoft Project Server and Office
- A strong work ethic and can-do attitude
