About the role
We’re looking for a Support Developer to join us in our Support team.
The right person will have previous experience within a Support team, with the right attributes to effectively diagnose incidents, resolve problems and carry out modifications to existing systems, as well as supporting the transition of new projects from our Development Team through to their support and maintenance phase.
Main duties
Working under the Service Delivery Manager as part of our service delivery team, you will be responsible for diagnosing the cause of incidents, creating workarounds, resolving problems and implementing change requests on our ITIL-aligned service desk.
The role will include updating design and user documentation and assisting end-users in getting the best out of their systems.
The chosen candidate will be a key member of the team, ensuring that we deliver excellent service to our customers.
Skills and experience
You will need:
- experience of supporting and maintaining multiple projects
- strong analytical skills
- a sound understanding of client-server and Web technologies (Web Services, XML and SOAP)
- the skills and knowledge in a wide range of technologies, including ASP.NET, C# and SQL
- an understanding of tiered architectures
- XHTML development experience
- an awareness of current Web trends and technologies
- experience of developing with .NET 3.5
- experience with source control management and versioning
- LINQ
- a methodical, yet flexible approach
- exposure to CMS systems, preferably RedDot / OpenText
- knowledge of service desk management tools, ideally Axosoft OnTime
Ideally you will have:
- exposure to working within an ITIL environment
- experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)
- exposure to Microsoft Project Server
