We’re expanding at a phenomenal rate and have an exciting opportunity for a Web Developer to join the team in Newcastle.
About the role
As a Web Developer on our busy Technology team you will be responsible for creating code from our designer's layouts and for creating user interfaces with clean semantic XHTML integrated into ASP.NET applications. Projects are many and varied - you will be embracing emerging standards while promoting best practices in order to push the limits of what a browser can do.
You will be a real self-starter with lots of energy and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with our talented team of developers.
Main duties
Integrating front-end development with back-end development produced by the application developers Realising the interface designs and specifications through front-end development of mark-up and scripting Testing of work to ensure that all work produced adheres to internal and external web development standards such as web accessibility, semantic XHTML, and unobtrusive JavaScript Working as part of a project team in the development phase of a project Supporting the proposal process where required, providing estimations of time to complete work Involved in short term maintenance jobs and dealing with change requests from clients Involvement in team discussions to identify design solutions Working with other departments within a project team to provide advice and direction which ensures the quality of a product Coding clearly and maintaining consistency Staying abreast of innovative emerging techniques in web development Working knowledge of version and source control systemsSkills and experience
You will need:
- to be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject
- experience of working on multiple projects to web development and accessibility standards
- the proven skills and experience of using XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
- knowledge of working within common software methodologies
