We’ve just returned from our company trip away, which took place at Xscape in Castleford on Friday. As well as snowboarding and skiing, bowling and lazer quest, we also enjoyed a great night out in Leeds to round off an action-packed day on the slopes.

On Friday morning, we made our way to Xscape at the insanely-early time of 7.30am, but we soon woke up as the bacon sarnies arrived and the banter turned to activities for the day ahead. Some of us opted for a skiing or snowboarding lesson, while the ‘pros’ were raring to show off their half pipes and 360s – well, that’s what they led us to believe anyway.

As well as the snow-related activities during the morning, we also had a good laugh playing cosmic golf and busting some moves on the bowling alley. Then after a Bavarian-themed quiz over lunch and some delicious gluwein to warm us up again, it was back to the slopes in the afternoon for more snowboarding, skiing and tobogganing.

As the day turned to night, we all headed to the Quebec Hotel in Leeds city centre to get ready for the evening’s entertainment and a fabulous meal at The Loft. During dinner, each table formed a quiz team with their own unique name and dress code - this included farmers’ outfits, whiskers and waistcoats, and not forgetting Ben and Michael's bright pink tutus! At one point, we even heard rumours that Lee had bet Robin his house over a picture of Kevin Keegan. So Lee, have you handed the keys over yet?

All in all, the trip was a great laugh and a really good chance for everyone from our London and Newcastle offices to get to know each other a little better. It was also our way of saying thank you to our people for their hard work and commitment.
