Gearing up for the Great North Run

Good luck to the three fittest members of the team who are gearing up to take part in this year's Great North Run - wearing a sporting sets of bunny ears!

Representing the Creative team are Copywriter, Michelle Houlsby and Creative Director, Gary Glozier alongside Web Developer David Joseph who will all be running to raise funds for Farplace Animal Rescue in Durham.

As a national organisation based in the north of England, Farplace rescues and re-homes animals in need or in danger across the UK, either within its own sanctuaries or through adoption schemes. Any funds raised will significantly help towards the running of both schemes.

After an undisclosed number of months of strict training regimes, both Gary and Michelle will be making their debut in this year's run (unless we count Gary's participation in the Junior Great North Run in 1986, while David is making a comeback after taking part five years ago where he completed the course in 2.5 hours).

This year, David explains “I'm just trying to make it rather than aiming for a record time although it would be nice to finish before the guy in the Deep Sea Diving costume!”

Gary has slightly more at stake, “I have been a spectator at pretty much every Great North Run and thought it was about time to get involved…this year I am trying to beat my brother Dean's target of 1hr 35mins set when he was a lot younger!”

Outdoor sports enthusiast, Michelle, has her sights set high as she prepares, not only to finish the course in good time but is also preparing to climb Mount Snowdon next month.

The rest of us will be wrapping up warm to cheer them on!
