We’ve just launched a brand-new website - hiwecanhelp.co.uk - to support healthcare professionals across North Tyneside and reduce the harm caused by drugs in the community.
This new Web offering not only acts as a community forum where people can talk to each other and seek advice about drug-related issues, but it also allows individuals to obtain practical information about treatment and support services in their area.
Hiwecanhelp.co.uk is not an organisation. It’s an online space to share information and best practice to support people who are directly affected by drugs.
The website was created as a new resource for The North Tyneside Drugs Action Team (DAT) and is being developed with the support of NHS Innovators North. DAT is made up of a partnership between North Tyneside Council, North Tyneside Primary Care Trust, the Police, The National Probation Service, and the voluntary sector.
So far, the results are proving to be so successful that partner organisations are already looking to adopt this platform on a national scale.
This new website is proving to be a vital resource amongst healthcare and community professionals in the area. The feedback so far has been outstanding - we really couldn’t be happier with the results.

Working with DAT has been an exceptionally rewarding project as it has given us the opportunity to focus our technical and creative skills towards a resource that is already making a difference to the local community. We are now planning phase two of the development which will be rolled out in spring 2009.
