We went ape and lived to tell the tale

Last Friday the whole tribe went to Go Ape in Sherwood Forest for a day of adrenaline-pumping fun. For those who didn’t have the stomach for the zip wires and rope swings, the day was spent mountain biking through Robin Hood’s stomping ground.

Coaches from the London and Newcastle offices headed off bright and early on Friday morning so we could arrive in good time to make the most of the day. Once we arrived at Go Ape in Nottinghamshire there was just enough time for a forest picnic before the activities began. While some of us chose to take-on the high-wire adventure course, others opted for an afternoon mountain biking through the beautiful surroundings.

The 60ft Tarzan swing was probably the most hair-raising part of the course, but even those who aren’t particularly fond of heights decided to give it a go. The zip wires and obstacles were challenging and really good fun – it was a brilliant thing to do as a team.

After the harnesses were removed and the bikes were handed back, we congregated in the heart of the forest for a delicious BBQ where stories of the bravest and scariest moments were shared amongst the team. The evening’s entertainment continued in the nearby village of Edwinstowe where Team Five were crowned the 2010 TH_NK quiz winners, beating off stiff competition from There’s Only One Gary Glozier, Geeks on Heat, and Quiz Team Aguilera.
