We weren’t entirely sure if Matt had lost his razor, or was just going for the Freddie Mercury look, but thank goodness, his ‘fetching’ new moustache is all for charidee mate.
Matt Theakston is part of our user-experience team in London and is certainly attracting some attention with his newly acquired facial hair. Ok, so it might not be the best look in the world - sorry Matt - but we all agree, it’s a great thing to do for charity, not to mention the amusement it’s giving us on these cold November mornings.
I have decided to put down my rusty Mach 3 for one month and help to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, which kills one man every hour in the UK, with over 35,000 men diagnosed each year. Lip fluff + humiliation = good cause, or something like that.

'Movember' is the month of the moustache, where people from the four corners of the world grow their facial hair to raise money for charity. If you would like to sponsor Matt’s moustache and make a donation to The Prostate Cancer Charity, you can either donate online or write a cheque payable to ‘The Prostate Cancer Charity - Movember’, referencing Matt’s registration number, 256472, and send it to: Movember - The Prostate Cancer Charity, First Floor, Cambridge House, Cambridge Grove, London, W6 0LE.
Or, if you are just interested in following the progress of Matt’s moustache - from foul burglar tache to Frank zappa – you can check out more pictures here.
After becoming increasingly concerned about Matt’s rather unkempt top lip, Ann-Marie and I probed further as to what was happening. Matt owned up and explained he was trying to grow a moustache for charity throughout November, or should I say, Movember. Now, we are still unsure as to what ‘mo’ he’s attempting, and clearly it’s not as good as ours, but it’s for a great cause to help raise awareness for prostate cancer - great stuff Matt.
