Getting all up in the grill with Nando's - literally
News27.06.12
There’s no denying that we’re huge fans of the legendary, Portuguese flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, but it's not just for love of the bird that we have been spotted at Nando’s all over the country in the last few weeks.
We are excited to have been appointed by Nando’s to work with them on a global digital strategy project. To kick things off, we spent the day at four different restaurants to get a real flavour of how things work.
Lynne Davidson and Lee Allen spent the day at Nando’s on Great Portland Street, London; Rachael Wilman and Lea Simpson went to Berners Street, London; Lucie Robinson and Rachelle Thompson were at Covent Garden; and Gary Glozier went to Nando’s in Eldon Square, Newcastle.
Working at Berners Street was tough, a huge restaurant, and a busy lunch-time rush left us well and truly shattered at the end of the day! That said, it was an absolute privilege to work with such amazing people, and experience the fantastic culture at Nando’s. It’s a close call for the best bit of the day – but I think it’s got to be the squat thrusts in the middle of a packed restaurant (Lea was fined 20 push-ups for swearing which she blagged into 20 rather shallow squats).
We’re really happy to be a part of the Nando’s team and are looking forward to working together on some great work in the coming months and years.
It was fantastic that Nando's were willing to let us get right in the middle of things and get to the heart of their business. We all went through the same try-out shift that someone in the final stage of their interview to work at Nando’s goes through. There was an induction manual and everything!
