Representatives from TH_NK have been extra busy this week as conference fever takes hold across the North East.
The team has just returned from Codeworks' much anticipated inaugural ‘Thinking Digital’ Conference held at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art and The Sage, Gateshead.
We were enlightened by an eclectic stream of renowned speakers including Matt Locke, Commissioning Editor for Education and New Media at C4, Sean Phelan, Founder of Multi-map recently bought by Microsoft, and Daniel Pink, Community Marketing guru and Al Gore’s former speech writer, all of whom gave their insights into the latest issues facing the digital industry. Attracting over 350 delegates, the sessions featured issues from media and globalisation, the future of mobile 2.0 as well as the weird and wonderful story of one of the world’s most influential blogs to the inner working of the latest Microsoft technologies.
Meanwhile TH_NK’s own Phil Harvey is taking part in BarCamp, North East - part of an international network of user generated conferences with content focusing on early-stage web applications, new technologies, open data formats and social protocols.
Ensuring further food for thought for the bank holiday weekend, ‘Thinking Digital’ left us with the question, 'Is technology leading us down the path to Utopia or to the extinction of the Planet?' Answers on a blog - or a plain old postcard...
We turned out in force to attend the Thinking Digital conference. It’s crucial we stay at the forefront of what’s going on in our industry. The event allowed us to share our passion for all things web and meet some inspirational speakers. We loved every minute of it.
